Safety & Placement

• Place the fire pit on a stable, level, non-combustible surface such as concrete, pavers or gravel, and keep it clear of overhanging branches, structures and anything flammable.
• Burn dry, seasoned firewood only. Never use gasoline, lighter fluid or other accelerants.
• Never leave a fire unattended, and keep children and pets at a safe distance.
• Follow the manufacturer's instructions and check local codes and burn bans before use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the LUME Surround 1 really smokeless?
No wood fire is completely smoke-free, but the LUME double-wall insert is designed to produce much less smoke than a traditional fire pit, especially with dry, seasoned hardwood.

Does it come with the insert and lid?
Yes. This complete kit includes the GFRC bowl, the LUME-MS1 stainless steel smokeless insert and a matching stainless steel lid.

What colors are available?
Slate (grey) and Raven (black). Choose your color from the options above.

Does it need a gas line or power?
No. It burns wood, so no gas line or electrical hookup is needed.

What kind of wood should I burn?
Dry, seasoned hardwood gives the best flame and the least smoke. Avoid wet, green or treated wood.

Do small cracks in the GFRC bowl mean it is defective?
Not necessarily. Small stress cracks and surface crazing are a natural occurrence in GFRC and are not covered by the warranty. The warranty covers manufacturing defects and structural failure.

Warranty

Fire Gear's Limited Warranty covers consumer use for products manufactured after January 1, 2026:

• GFRC structure: 3-year warranty against manufacturing defects or structural failure. Small stress cracks, surface crazing and discoloration over time are natural in GFRC and are not covered.
• Stainless steel lid: Lifetime warranty against construction and manufacturer defects.

The warranty starts on the date of sale and applies to the original purchaser only, so keep your bill of sale or payment record. Warranty claims are filed through Lux Outdoor Fireplaces on your behalf. Damage found when you open the box must be reported within 30 days of purchase and before the product is installed. The warranty does not cover accident, misuse, modification, improper installation or maintenance, severe weather, discoloration from overheating, or exposure to chemicals such as chlorine and salt (coastal and salt environments are subject to manufacturer review).
