The Sierra Flame Austin 65 is a 65"-class direct vent linear gas fireplace for great rooms, feature walls and new builds. With up to 38,000 BTU, a flush clean face design and Sierra Flame's largest flame presentation, it is a modern statement fireplace that also puts out serious heat. It is a zero clearance, built-in unit, so it frames into a wall or chimney chase without a masonry chimney. Choose natural gas or propane.

The Deluxe System comes standard: a 7-day programmable thermostat remote, a modulating valve for flame height, and a dual fan kit with 6-stage adjustable control. Black porcelain panels, black reflective glass, a 9-piece rock set and a basic trim surround with safety barrier also come standard.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Austin 65 a fireplace insert?
No. It is a zero clearance gas fireplace that is framed into a wall or chimney chase. It is not made to be installed inside a masonry fireplace.

Is a surround included?
Yes. The Austin 65 comes with a basic trim surround with safety barrier.

Does it come with a remote and fan?
Yes. The Deluxe System includes a 7-day programmable thermostat remote, a modulating valve and a dual fan kit with 6-stage adjustable control.

What venting does it use?
4" x 7" direct vent flex pipe with top venting. Venting is required for every installation. The manual lists a maximum of 34' vertical, 20' horizontal and four 90° elbows. See the manual and your local building codes.

Is it available in natural gas and propane?
Yes. Select your fuel above. Both versions are rated up to 38,000 BTU.

Does it need electricity?
Yes. The fan and control module need a 110V outlet, and the manual lists an optional battery backup package for power outages.

Can I use it above 4,500 feet?
The Austin 65 is set for 0–4,500 ft as shipped. Higher elevations need smaller burner orifices. See the manual for sizes.

Is the Austin 65 a good linear gas fireplace for a large room or feature wall?
Yes. The 65" body and wide viewing area give a dramatic flame for great rooms and feature walls, and up to 38,000 BTU provides strong heat for open living spaces. Room size, insulation and climate all affect sizing. The manual also calls for a non-combustible board across the top of the unit and lists framing clearances, so review it and your local codes before you plan the wall.
